The Midi Essential

Happy Tuesday! The main feature of my post today is about the midi skirt. Its nice to switch up hem lines to being below the knee rather than the usual mini skirts. My cutout perforated skirt from Zara is so simple yet it makes the entire outfit. It is hard to see in this photo but there is a shorter skirt inside, and you can see my legs through the skirt. It adds a bit of edge to the classic midi skirt.

To add a more elegant look, I am wearing a statement necklace that has an art deco design by LuluFrost. I won it through the Styletag app giveaway. You can also follow them on instagram @styletagapp

Spring Break Getaway Pt. 2

On my second day in Las Vegas, I went a more casual route with my ensemble. Keeping in mind the sunny weather, I brought out the high waist black shorts I bought at Topshop a while back. I did not show the high waist part because I didn't want to cover up the unique print on my tank. My tank from Acne Studios has nude and black tones printed in an abstract way which caught my attention. I paired the whole outfit with the Zara linen top just to have coverage on my arms.

Never forget the red Prada bag peeping at the side of me. The essential "it" bag for me!

To top it off, my Chanel espadrilles have been totally worth the investment so far. They are super comfortable, and the colors match so many different looks for the Spring/Summer.

Spring Break Getaway Pt. 1

Happy spring break, readers! I hope you've all been doing well since it has been a while since my last post. Finally spring break has come around and of course the best way to start it is to go away on vacation! I went to Las Vegas this past weekend as part of the 21 club! YAY. I tried to keep my outfits simple by keeping in tone with the basic blacks. The drape wrapped skirt from Zara is currently the hot buy as its edgy with the asymmetrical hem and light weight fabric. I paired it with a basic black crop top from Brandy Melville and the striped linen shirt from Zara as a cover.

There was a really pretty floral display at the Wynn and the lighting there was amazing~ right in front of the Chanel store too. hehe.
My shoes are by Jeffrey Campbell and they are studded sandals with a mini heel. These shoes are great for some coverage and support, and to show off a good pedicure!

This is my look for the first day of my stay! Stay tuned for my part 2 of my Vegas getaway :) Also check my instagram @nitaaamin for posts from my Vegas trip! It includes lots of food (as usual).

Spring/Summer Espadrilles

The sun is out and it is time to get our daily dose of Vitamin D! I haven't worn shorts in such a long time that it was weird to see my pale complexion~ My shorts are distressed boyfriend shorts, but I sized down to get a tighter look rather than to have a baggier fit. I also cuffed it because I don't like my shorts super long. I got them from Topshop about a year ago, but they are the best shorts ever because of the high-waisted fit.

Because March is my birthday month, I thought I would give myself an early present as I saw these Chanel Espadrilles at Saks Fifth Avenue and thought they were the cutest summer shoes! It is ideal and a nice change of height instead of wearing boots all the time, plus it accommodates a lot spring and summer wear! These Chanel Espadrilles run small so I had to size up to a 39, but it fits perfectly. It is also lined with leather under the canvas exterior, making the shoe sturdy.

My top is from American Apparel. Stripes this season seems to be trending, so go out and grab your striped nautical look to add to your wardrobe.

Stay tuned for my next blog post :)

The Boyfriend Shirt and Oxfords

Hooray for the SoCal sun shining down on us. That means its time to do a 180 spin on our wardrobes! I'm finding it hard to transition though...BUT this outfit is a good start to keep cool.

Starting off with my basic grey vneck and black pants, I kept it casual to go have a late lunch at Larchmont Bungalow with one of my besties. I wanted to have a cover up, but it was too hot for a jacket, so the boyfriend button up was a good way to add a pastel color to my dark scheme. To really add a touch of summer, I finally busted out my cutout oxfords that I got from Dolce Vita.

Stay Tuned for my Spring/Summer looks! Thanks for reading :)

For students out there, good luck on your Midterms! One more to go for me!

Hyper Space

Happy Thursday, almost Friday! I can say this outfit is a tribute to the rain that was definitely needed in LA last night. Although the weather during the day was amazing, and definitely was not sweater weather, but oh wells~

My whole outfit from head to toe is super grunge and tom boy. From the graphic sweater from Topman (yes, Topman because guy sweaters are amazing) to the sneaker wedges from Steve Madden. This comfy throw on outfit is sensible, yet stylish. This look is kind of a change from my usual girly girl looks, but I dress however I feel that day so WALAH (I have no idea how to spell that)!

To top it off and accessorize, the peppered gray beanie from Topshop does the trick to really make it a super tom boyish look~

Thanks for keeping up with my posts and I hope you'll stay tuned for my next post :)

Spring Transitions

Hi everyone! I hope you've all been well, and happy that the sun is shining! It's almost time to pull out the shorts and store all those heavy coats and knits. This outfit is a good idea for slowly transitioning into the Spring season with the soft pastel colors. This silk-like skirt with the asymmetrical hemlines makes it flowy and whimsical. I actually wore this on a rather windy day because I like how the skirt was being blown by the wind! :P

I styled this skirt with my black basic tops so all the attention was on the skirt. It seems crazy that I am wearing a circle scarf, but to my defense it was cold that morning!

My skirt is from Topshop but I purchased it a few years back when I took my family vacation to Thailand where it was too hot to wear jeans. However, asymmetrical hems are still very trendy as well as midi skirts, which Topshop does continue to carry.
Thanks for reading my post! Have a wonderful weekend and check back for my next post :)
