The Icons

@Roman Salon

Hi fellow readers! Its been a while hasn't it?...I guess being out of school and working has really got the best of me. I feel I have so much to update I just don't even know where to start!

I guess based on my selfie situation, its obvious I tried to get myself into this passing summer mode by dying/highlighting my hair. I was introduced to this hair stylist, Sabrina Sanchez at the Roman Salon and she did an amazing job. The salon is really cute too (you know me, I love good ambiance).

Lately, I've been trying to pull back on shopping but could not turn away at this Saint Laurent suede fringe skirt.

Uhh...how amazing right? I look very fall-esque but fall is my season so what can I say ;) As I usually say in my previous posts, always buying the best pieces and not just buying clothes. Paired with a simple black tee and black boots, the skirt speaks for itself.

Speaking of key pieces, this french fry shirt had my name all over it when I saw it. "Fries before guys." Way too good to pass up.

To end my catch up post, these iconic pieces are more like splurges I couldn't resist. Lets just say I am weak when it comes to peer pressure and Chanel in the same sentence.

In LOVE with my limited edition purple ombre wallet. And of course I joined the Dior sunglass trend ;)

Thanks for reading and catch you later! xoxo

May Mashup

Hi readers! Long time no writing. My hiatus has been due to the crazy phases of life that are flashing before my eyes. From adjusting to my new place of employment to officially graduating from college...how unreal (*screaming*)! So many things have been going on that I have not been able to shoot outfits other than from my trusty iphone 6. Therefore, I felt like it was a good time to just have a catchup post of some thrown together outfits with some of my new favorite and oldie but goodie favorite pieces.

These days I like to keep it casual when I'm not working because I feel I have to dress up and never get to wear shorts. I fell in love with ReDone denim. Their take on a the vintage levis in a modern cut is definitely what's trending this summer. Even though its a bit difficult to figure out sizing, a belt usually fixes the problem. My patched bomber jacket is another new favorite obsession I have. As spotted first on my favorite blogger Chiara Ferragni (The Blonde Salad), I just had to have it, and of course it didn't disappoint.

I guess the trend I am embracing right now is that vintage look, even with this vintage remodeled levi military jacket. It's a great piece to wear with any outfit; yes even with dresses. To add that modern touch, I sported my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag with the red interior which is the best bucket bag because it keeps its upright shape. For the quality of the leather, the price was a total steal.

Another way to sport that Mansur Gavriel bucket bag (small size).

Some upclose details on what I wore to my graduation ceremony. A floral ALC dress with a yellow ivory Celine trio. Adding a light toned bag to my collection for a change! I love the geometric pattern at Republique restaurant, and I love their food too hehehe.

Commemorative graduation photo in case you don't believe me.

An oldie but goodie Chanel boot I wish would never deteriorate...must tread lightly... Photographed at one of my favorite coffee shops (Comoncy).

Gotta take a selfie! Just because I rarely show my face in full body shots. Thanks for reading :)

Elegance Meets Casual

Happy spring time readers! It's been a while right? Sorry about that...as I transition into a "full time worker" chapter in my life, sleeping is one of my best friends right now which takes me away from the blogging scene a bit. But don't fret because I will always try to put my best looks together to share with you guys!

If you follow me on instagram, you can see that I just had to post about these Frame jeans I'm wearing. I was hesistant at first about those huge rips on the knees but I am LOVING it. The fabrication of the denim is also more rigid and not as stretchy which is why these are my go-to pair of denim right now. Even though people struggle with the idea of paying a steep price for jeans with rips....all I can say is....you'll love it like I do?

PLUS, in the past weeks that I have not posted, my birthday passed so I'm 22 now!! *cue the Taylor Swift song* I totally treated myself to these amazing, edgy Chanel "sandals" even though they are sort of loafers at the same time. As seen on runway, I love these shoes so I am trying to tread lightly. With a little peep around the middle of your foot and an ankle strap they are just like the best shoes for any outfit. They are more of a fancier sandal, but that does not mean you can't dress it down as I have in my look today!

This is another impromptu look with the Frame denim which is definitely an edgier pair of denim.

Playing with Lengths

Oh Los Angeles, you are too good to us los angelinos. Considering it is still considered winter (I think), we get such good weather. It felt good to get some vitamin D on my skin for a change. Keeping it really simple this Sunday with some good basics and dark hues. Since its technically winter, in an attempt to cover up, this lengthy, olive cardigan from Topshop somewhat covers up all the leg I have been showing around town today. The length cardigan also gets to cover up how pasty I look. On the one hand I love being so pale, but then I like being tan ._. I can never win.

My boyfriend shorts are extremely distressed by Rag & Bone. I have to tread carefully just so it doesn't rip anymore! Fingers crossed. However, I have my eyes on the black version of these shorts which are super cute, you might be seeing them on some future summer post....teehee. I say boyfriend shorts but I drastically sized down so I can achieve a tighter fit.

It's fun to mix and match different pieces from my closet together. Keeping with my resolution is so difficult by the way, I hope you guys are having better luck than I am *sad face*

Forever Oversized

Seasons Greetings! I know I've been having gaps in my posts, but I've been busy! But it is about time that we feel the chilly weather in the air, which gives me more reasons to get coats and jacket (my current obsession).

This jacket by Sessun has completely caught my attention. Very tomboy style with the grey tones and the leather elbowpads. Easily paired back to a clean black outfit, you can do no wrong. Sessun can be found on online retailers, Farfetch and Madewell. My bomber jacket is obviously oversized as I purchased a medium size, I hate it when the jackets are tight around the shoulders. As you can see, this look is me trying to channel my inner parisian self. Teehee.

I also got a hair cut, so I can try using my Bumble and Bumble hair spray, which I hope will give me that natural beach wave hair style I've been wanting!

The other investment pieces featured in this post are Balenciaga cut out ankle boots, Chanel medium boy bag, Rag & Bone jeans, uniqlo long sleeve v neck, and giant vintage sunglasses!

Trick or Treat?

OOOOO~~~ Halloween is approaching us and will you give a treat or get tricked? Hopefully...not the latter. As the first holiday of the fall season is here, it really kickstarts all the festivities which makes me SUPER excited. By trying to stay tuned and be in the spirit, I decided to carve a pumpkin this year! As you can see, it turned out rather decent for a rookie ;) I hope it's obvious that its a menacing jack skeleton.... and in keeping with "treat" portion of halloween, you can say I got quite a few goodies this past month that is in tune with a fashionistas sweet tooth.

Posted above is the Chanel medium boy bag. The new classic in my opinion. It's quilted but with a tomboy edge which is what I love about it. It is super spacious with an adjustable strap that can be worn long or short (I tend to do a cross body look, regardless of the size).

ANYWAY, back to the point of getting into the holiday spirit, I'm gonna show you the easy steps to carving your own pumpkin if you haven't already. And at the end of the post, a sweet treat to satisfy those sweet tooths out there!

Step 1. Find a template of the design you would like to carve onto your pumpkin. You could either poke holes from the template onto the pumpkin, then carve. Or, the way I did it was I cut the template and taped it on the pumpkin and traced it with an ink pen. Make sure the pen is removable with water so you can remove any lines from the pumpkin later.

Step 2. Make an angle cut around the stem to carve out the pumpkin gunk. Make sure the cut is at an angle so when you put the stem lid back on, it will not fall through the pumpkin. P.S. you can keep the pumpkin seeds and toast them later!

Step 3. Cut out the pumpkin face based on the outlines you made earlier, and your result should look like this or whatever design you have chosen! I kind of made me steps super condensed, but you get the gist of it :D

Now....for the grand finale of tasty treats to eat after your hard work of carving....SUGAR COOKIES. Place it. Bake it. Eat it. Can't get any easier than that right? These cookies are so amazingly delicious and cute. Can't go wrong!

Thanks for keeping up with my post this week! I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!!

A Touch of Gold

The first day of October means that the Fall season is just around the corner! I have been waiting way too long for it to get cooler. My outfit features some key Fall pieces that are going to be a staple in everyone's closet. The two key pieces are boots and lengthy coats.

My boots featured above are from Chanel's Paris meets Dallas Collection, but it is unique yet still traditional and classic which is one thing I love about Chanel. With hardware that is inspired by by a more cowboy western theme. The stars on the heels are like the sheriff badges in Wild Wild West. I am so glad I got my hands on these boots because they are different from all the other boots I have.

The second Fall staple is lengthy coats. It took me forever to find the perfect one because I am so particular about how long it is (I know silly me). This sleeveless coat from Topshop is an essential layering piece to add "volume" to an ordinary look. The coat was able to elevate the sluggish look underneath as I was wearing boyfriend jeans from Mothers jeans with a plain tee from Uniqlo.

My post proves that just one or two unique staples are able to elevate an outfit from basic to stylish and iconic. And I guess you can say I was trying to channel my inner fashion week outfits here in Los Angeles, which I have been inspired immensely by one of my favorite bloggers, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad ;)

#InMyJBrand

Summer is coming to a close, but the heat continues to shine down! Featured in this post is a white sleeveless jbrand blouse. With a pocket on one side and a flap on the other side, a simple sleeveless piece is elevated to add a bit more sophistication to a casual look.

I styled this top in two ways, one with a skinny boyfriend and with distressed shorts. The boyfriend jeans are by Joes Jeans which I sized down to create a skinnier fit. It's a great pair of jeans to have as they are more true denim compared to other brands that have a lot of stretch quality these days.

The super distressed shorts are from Topshop and are meant to be boyfriend shorts, but I sized down in them as well for a tighter fit. To add a more carefree feel to the outfit with shorts, I put on a fedora from Topman, which is nice to block the sun from my face.

Lately, I have been admiring jbrand's ready to wear collection from being around them at work. In an easy phrase, it's casual sophistication.

Split Back Tank

Today's post features this purpled hued split back tank from Rag & Bone. In light of this humid LA weather we're having, showing some skin doesn't hurt. What I love about this tank is how versatile this top can be. It's a perfect day to night top, just gotta change the bottoms.

Speaking of bottoms, I paired this chic heathered tank with distressed boyfriend shorts from Madewell. To have a more higher fitted look, I belted the shorts to get a higher rise but to keep in tact the slouchy look the "boyfriend" style should have.

Lastly, in light of the summer season, I am still sporting my ultra comfortable Chanel espadrilles. I wish they didn't sell out so fast so I could get my hands on another pair!

Spring Break Getaway Pt. 2

On my second day in Las Vegas, I went a more casual route with my ensemble. Keeping in mind the sunny weather, I brought out the high waist black shorts I bought at Topshop a while back. I did not show the high waist part because I didn't want to cover up the unique print on my tank. My tank from Acne Studios has nude and black tones printed in an abstract way which caught my attention. I paired the whole outfit with the Zara linen top just to have coverage on my arms.

Never forget the red Prada bag peeping at the side of me. The essential "it" bag for me!

To top it off, my Chanel espadrilles have been totally worth the investment so far. They are super comfortable, and the colors match so many different looks for the Spring/Summer.

Thanks for reading my readers! Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts for some new spring/summer looks :)

Spring/Summer Espadrilles

The sun is out and it is time to get our daily dose of Vitamin D! I haven't worn shorts in such a long time that it was weird to see my pale complexion~ My shorts are distressed boyfriend shorts, but I sized down to get a tighter look rather than to have a baggier fit. I also cuffed it because I don't like my shorts super long. I got them from Topshop about a year ago, but they are the best shorts ever because of the high-waisted fit.

Because March is my birthday month, I thought I would give myself an early present as I saw these Chanel Espadrilles at Saks Fifth Avenue and thought they were the cutest summer shoes! It is ideal and a nice change of height instead of wearing boots all the time, plus it accommodates a lot spring and summer wear! These Chanel Espadrilles run small so I had to size up to a 39, but it fits perfectly. It is also lined with leather under the canvas exterior, making the shoe sturdy.

My top is from American Apparel. Stripes this season seems to be trending, so go out and grab your striped nautical look to add to your wardrobe.

Stay tuned for my next blog post :)
