Forever Oversized

Seasons Greetings! I know I've been having gaps in my posts, but I've been busy! But it is about time that we feel the chilly weather in the air, which gives me more reasons to get coats and jacket (my current obsession).

This jacket by Sessun has completely caught my attention. Very tomboy style with the grey tones and the leather elbowpads. Easily paired back to a clean black outfit, you can do no wrong. Sessun can be found on online retailers, Farfetch and Madewell. My bomber jacket is obviously oversized as I purchased a medium size, I hate it when the jackets are tight around the shoulders. As you can see, this look is me trying to channel my inner parisian self. Teehee.

I also got a hair cut, so I can try using my Bumble and Bumble hair spray, which I hope will give me that natural beach wave hair style I've been wanting!

The other investment pieces featured in this post are Balenciaga cut out ankle boots, Chanel medium boy bag, Rag & Bone jeans, uniqlo long sleeve v neck, and giant vintage sunglasses!

Sparkle It Up

Happy December, readers! It is THE best time of the year, and the first time I'm posting this month. It's been so hectic with the end of my second to last semester of college...gah! But in the back of my mind and almost any second that I have a free thought, all I can think about is CHRISTMAS! And as we transition into the holidays, its time to bring out those holiday outfits for all the parties and dinners coming up! This dress from Allsaints does exactly just that. Combining the sexy appeal of lace, this dress also has little sparkly beads that shine under the light. I like that sparkle, but I guess its because I like to be the center of attention? Haha.

Underneath the whole ensemble (which was not included in my purchase), I wore black shorts and a tank to get that needed coverage. This is a more realistic approach so show some skin but still be covered. If you have not seen the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Taylor Swift's outfit in the last segment was phenomenal, and if I could wear an outfit like that on the daily I probably would, but in the meantime, this is as much skin as I'll show this holiday season :)

It's all about the DETAILS!

Allsaints has a new version of this dress on their website, and they're currently having an end of the season sale which you should NOT miss out on. Great pieces.

Boot Behemoth

Hey readers! I'm back!!! Being busy with classes and work didn't give me much of a chance to get around to taking blog photos. BUT when I'm back, I'm back with a kick. As we all know at this point, I have a weakness for boots of all sorts, but especially boots that are unique, which brings me to debut my Balenciaga cut out ankle boots! Since last fall, I have been wanting these shoes but did not have the willpower to buy them, but a season later....here they are. I thought these were sold out but to my pleasant surprise I found them at Barneys New York. That store literally has everything any shopaholic could want! But anyway, these boots are as amazing as I knew they would be so stylish and pretty much matches every single thing in my closet!

On this windy day, I paired it with cropped distressed jeans by Rag & Bone with a simple white tee. Even though it wasn't even that cold (I'm cold all the time), I threw on the peppered grey Topshop coat that I got last year which gives some extra volume to my look~

My whole schpeel on clothes from different seasons, as long as it looks good, it does not matter what season it is from. Plus, more designer lines tend to produce timeless pieces so its pretty hard to go wrong anyway :P

By the way, as you can see, I am sporting some new lip wear! I totally got inspired at work to rock a fall red lip color called 'Olivia' by Nars. One of the Nars representatives at Saks Fifth Avenue helped me pick this stunner color. I also use a red lip liner to perfect the edges ;)

Trick or Treat?

OOOOO~~~ Halloween is approaching us and will you give a treat or get tricked? Hopefully...not the latter. As the first holiday of the fall season is here, it really kickstarts all the festivities which makes me SUPER excited. By trying to stay tuned and be in the spirit, I decided to carve a pumpkin this year! As you can see, it turned out rather decent for a rookie ;) I hope it's obvious that its a menacing jack skeleton.... and in keeping with "treat" portion of halloween, you can say I got quite a few goodies this past month that is in tune with a fashionistas sweet tooth.

Posted above is the Chanel medium boy bag. The new classic in my opinion. It's quilted but with a tomboy edge which is what I love about it. It is super spacious with an adjustable strap that can be worn long or short (I tend to do a cross body look, regardless of the size).

ANYWAY, back to the point of getting into the holiday spirit, I'm gonna show you the easy steps to carving your own pumpkin if you haven't already. And at the end of the post, a sweet treat to satisfy those sweet tooths out there!

Step 1. Find a template of the design you would like to carve onto your pumpkin. You could either poke holes from the template onto the pumpkin, then carve. Or, the way I did it was I cut the template and taped it on the pumpkin and traced it with an ink pen. Make sure the pen is removable with water so you can remove any lines from the pumpkin later.

Step 2. Make an angle cut around the stem to carve out the pumpkin gunk. Make sure the cut is at an angle so when you put the stem lid back on, it will not fall through the pumpkin. P.S. you can keep the pumpkin seeds and toast them later!

Step 3. Cut out the pumpkin face based on the outlines you made earlier, and your result should look like this or whatever design you have chosen! I kind of made me steps super condensed, but you get the gist of it :D

Now....for the grand finale of tasty treats to eat after your hard work of carving....SUGAR COOKIES. Place it. Bake it. Eat it. Can't get any easier than that right? These cookies are so amazingly delicious and cute. Can't go wrong!

Thanks for keeping up with my post this week! I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!!

Bejeweled

Today's post is all about the bejeweled accents of this dress, not the game we all have played before :P Hopefully I didn't fool anyone! As you can see the amber colored jewels embroidered on the neckline of this dress adds a bit of sparkle to my ensemble. As I cannot escape from wearing black lately, at least I can say I have a bit of color? Plus I can say I am channeling my inner Halloween spirit with the amber/orange hue of the beads. Teehee.

This two piece dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim is so ethereal. The top portion worn on top of a spagetti tank dress can be worn separately as well with black jeans, making it a bit edgier. The bejeweled top portion paired back with the dress (as how its meant to be worn) is a bit more sophisticated. My favorite part is when you walk, the dress really does go with the wind (you know me pretending I'm runway walking everywhere I go). The entire look is made of silk so it really allows you to breathe especially since I wore at my 9:30am to 6pm work hours.

3.1 Phillip Lim is a brand I stumbled over, realizing how great their shapes, prints, and patterns are. This label has got me hooked!

As usual, paired back with my Rag & Bone Harrow boots, which are a great height and a bit tomboyish.

Can you believe how much my hair has grown?! In need of a cut and dye!

As usual, I try to never get to thank my readers for keeping up with me all this time! I hope to keep producing better photos and better writing~

A Touch of Gold

The first day of October means that the Fall season is just around the corner! I have been waiting way too long for it to get cooler. My outfit features some key Fall pieces that are going to be a staple in everyone's closet. The two key pieces are boots and lengthy coats.

My boots featured above are from Chanel's Paris meets Dallas Collection, but it is unique yet still traditional and classic which is one thing I love about Chanel. With hardware that is inspired by by a more cowboy western theme. The stars on the heels are like the sheriff badges in Wild Wild West. I am so glad I got my hands on these boots because they are different from all the other boots I have.

The second Fall staple is lengthy coats. It took me forever to find the perfect one because I am so particular about how long it is (I know silly me). This sleeveless coat from Topshop is an essential layering piece to add "volume" to an ordinary look. The coat was able to elevate the sluggish look underneath as I was wearing boyfriend jeans from Mothers jeans with a plain tee from Uniqlo.

My post proves that just one or two unique staples are able to elevate an outfit from basic to stylish and iconic. And I guess you can say I was trying to channel my inner fashion week outfits here in Los Angeles, which I have been inspired immensely by one of my favorite bloggers, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad ;)

Parisian Dreaming

Haven't you daydreamed that you were walking the streets of Europe, walking the cobble stone streets, maybe eating some macarons too?.....Well I definitely have, and I guess you can say I would wear an outfit like this for a simple parisian look.

Starting with a clean cut linen blouse that drifts in the wind with each step. A simple blouse that is an essential for all closets for throwing on for on the go, but at the same time still keeping it classy and elegant. To upgrade the look as well, my two-tiered black necklace is a perfect contrast on the white blouse.

As per usual, tight black jeans that accentuates long legs (if that happens to be a prominent features). What I love about this look as well is that the jeans fall at a length that happens to show a bit of ankle to ensure that my shoes get some spotlight as well.

To finish my H to T (head to toe reference from America's Next Top Model..haha) breakdown, these oxfords are like the cherry on top of the ice cream, which also completes such a light parisian style. Roaming through the streets of Paris in these oxfords would be superb for comfort, style, and still feel elegant and chic.

Hopefully in the near future, I'll be able to actually have some pictures fulfilling this dream of mine! At least for now, I can at least dress as if I were there? Haha.

What's really cute is that there are button on the back of the blouse that can be unbuttoned, so it could be more or less open-back! Gives it that new twist to most usual linen blouses.

Print on Pattern

Happy Sunday readers! I hope you're all staying hydrated during this scorching heat! But usually the scorching heat is followed by cold weather...which is my favorite season...coats...scarves... But anyway, today I present a more interesting outfit that combines a peppered grey print mixed with black lace.

My grey peppered vest by Rag & Bone serves as a more boxy, casual piece to offset the more elegant feature of the lace skirt. It isn't photographed, but the vest has an asymmetrical hem, being longer in the back than in the front. A simple vest is a great piece for anyone who wants to add a bit of edge to a plain outfit (plus having pockets is a plus)!

The skirt featured in this post, is from Reformation. With a shorter skirt lined on the inside, it still allows me to show some leg, even with a midi outer hem. The skirt was an amazing buy because its great for mix-and-matching with different tops.

And as usual, can't forget to pair my look with some great ankle boots! My signature that can never go wrong.

Uniform

Happy Sunday! Sunday is new article posting day for me. What I bring to you today is nothing new of what you would get from me, black dress (what a surprise)! A chiffon dress that is lined with a tighter jersey, bodycon fabric. Rag & Bone's signature is their street-style, effortless dress. A bit more unique than a typical black dress, but it is more dreamy and ethereal. with a high low hem allows more room for a perfect "dress is blowing in the wind" look. Paired with the dress is none other than the Rag & Bone boots with the perfect height which is great for long hours of standing. Us girls know how painful heels can be.

Another unique piece is my sheer, floral, lace bomber from Nasty Gal. Too hot for a jacket, too chilly for no jacket at all, grab a bomber jacket! Light weight but not too thick.

Lastly, to add something to bring the outfit together, a statement necklace breaks the endless amount of black that I wear all the time. The Lulu Frost gold statement necklace ties in my other gold accessories. I hope you readers don't get sick of all my black clothes...I can't help it! It's just simply Nita. Teehee.

3.1 Phillip Lim x Zara

Happy Sunday! The summer season is coming to an end, but mother nature sure knows how to make an impression with the heat. To contrast with the heat, it's always best to wear light colors, other than black (I know I'm sad inside because I always wear black). However, I cannot escape from wearing boots!

My post consists of a grey wrap skirt from Zara and a sleeveless, fish printed, jeweled tank by Phillip Lim. The statement piece is the top itself which has bold spring/summer colors, but to elevate the tank from any ordinary tank, there are clear jewels around the neckline. Makes it easy without having to accessorize much. Another feature of the tank is a contrasting sheer fabric on the back, making it a bit sexy.

On a side note, I have become more of a fan of Phillip Lim's collection because of how amazing his clothes fits me. From having a more block style dress to a dress that gives you a fit and flare to show your physique. If you haven't checked out his F/W 14 collection, go check it out! Great fabric, great prints, and simplicity.

#InMyJBrand

Summer is coming to a close, but the heat continues to shine down! Featured in this post is a white sleeveless jbrand blouse. With a pocket on one side and a flap on the other side, a simple sleeveless piece is elevated to add a bit more sophistication to a casual look.

I styled this top in two ways, one with a skinny boyfriend and with distressed shorts. The boyfriend jeans are by Joes Jeans which I sized down to create a skinnier fit. It's a great pair of jeans to have as they are more true denim compared to other brands that have a lot of stretch quality these days.

The super distressed shorts are from Topshop and are meant to be boyfriend shorts, but I sized down in them as well for a tighter fit. To add a more carefree feel to the outfit with shorts, I put on a fedora from Topman, which is nice to block the sun from my face.

Lately, I have been admiring jbrand's ready to wear collection from being around them at work. In an easy phrase, it's casual sophistication.

Minimalistic

Happy Sunday! The best day of the week for me because it means relaxation, good food, and good company. What I am bringing to my blog today is my love for a minimalistic look. The fact that I have recently been purchasing lots of black pieces is influenced from work, and the fact that black just easily elevates any look any time.

My look for the day is this slip-like dress from Elie Tahari. The key point on this dress is the lace panel on the top of the dress, and at the bottom hem. With a more classy silky look in the front contrasted by a knit fabric on the back of the dress allows for a light weight dress great for the humidity. However, I can see this with an oversized coat for the upcoming season.
Paired with my Balenciaga boots with a cork heel to add a bit of edge to the whole outfit. Gold hardware from my shoes bring together the same look by matching my rose gold watch, and silver rings.

Split Back Tank

Today's post features this purpled hued split back tank from Rag & Bone. In light of this humid LA weather we're having, showing some skin doesn't hurt. What I love about this tank is how versatile this top can be. It's a perfect day to night top, just gotta change the bottoms.

Speaking of bottoms, I paired this chic heathered tank with distressed boyfriend shorts from Madewell. To have a more higher fitted look, I belted the shorts to get a higher rise but to keep in tact the slouchy look the "boyfriend" style should have.

Lastly, in light of the summer season, I am still sporting my ultra comfortable Chanel espadrilles. I wish they didn't sell out so fast so I could get my hands on another pair!
